Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) Status

Check the status of your application for a Canada eTA (electronic travel authorization) using the form below to find out if your eTA is still valid, has expired, or has been denied permission to travel to Canada. Once granted, a Canadian eTA is valid for five years or until the expiration date of your passport, whichever comes first. If you have received a new passport since your last eTA, you will need to apply for a new eTA to travel to Canada. Applications can be made online and are typically approved in a matter of minutes.

Travelers are advised to apply at least one week prior to departure to Canada. If I recently applied for an eTA and the status of the application shows as "Not Found", please wait a few hours for it to be processed before checking it again. Make sure the information you provide is correct. If after four weeks you still have not received a decision about your application for an eTA, please contact our support team for assistance.

No Request Found.

As of August 2015, an electronic travel authorization (eTA) is required for travelers visiting Canada for tourism, transit, or business for a stay of less than six months.

Travelers with passports from certain countries who are eligible for an eTA will be able to apply online.
